Beginning January 1, 2009, the standard maileage rates for the use of a car (including vans, pickups or panel trucks) will be 55 cents a mile for all business miles driven.
Effective July 1, 2008 - Mileage Rate: The Internal Revenue Service and Treasury Department announced an increase in the optional standard mileage rates.

2009 Minimum WageEffective January 1, 2009 Ohio’s minimum wage will increase as follows:
• $7.30 per hour
• $3.65 per hour for tipped employees (plus tips)The Ohio minimum wage is $6.55 per hour for:
• Those employees whose employers gross $267,000 or less
• 14 & 15 year oldsOn July 24, 2009 the Ohio minimum wage increases to $7.25 per hour for:• Those employees whose employers gross $267,000 or less
• 14 & 15 year olds
Federal Minimum Wage
On May 25, 2007, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) was amended to increase the federal minimum wage in three steps: to $5.85 per hour effective July 24, 2007; to $6.55 per hour effective July 24, 2008 (State of Ohio is $7.00 per hour this is unchanged from previous increase); and to $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009.
