Beginning January 1, 2008, the standard maileage rates for the use of a car (including vans, pickups or panel trucks) will be 50.5 cents a mile for all business miles driven.
Effective July 1, 2008: The Internal Revenue Service and Treasury Department announced an increase in the optional standard mileage rates.

On May 25, 2007, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) was amended to increase the federal minimum wage in three steps: to $5.85 per hour effective July 24, 2007; to $6.55 per hour effective July 24, 2008 (State of Ohio is $7.00 per hour this is unchanged from previous increase); and to $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009.
